Advantages of an HSA:
- Funds carry over year-to-year – there is no “use it or lose it” concern
- Contribution Tax Benefit – Contributions to a HSAs are tax deductible (subject to IRS annual limits)
- Earnings Tax Benefit – Interest earned on HSA funds grows on a tax-deferred basis, and you won’t pay tax on HSA interest if the funds are used for eligible medical expenses.
- Distribution Tax Benefits:
- Eligible medical expenses can be purchased tax-free when you use your HSA.
